T&D Inspector, I- Sr Location: Albuquerque, NM, United States Job ID: 6088767 Date Posted:Jan 9, 2025 **POSTING DEADLINE** This position is posted until filled. **DEPARTMENT** Department: Customer Ops Work Management **JOB DESCRIPTION** **Sr. T&D Inspector** Salary Grade: G06 Minimum Midpoint Maximum $74,796 - $100,975 - $127,152 SUMMARY: Coordinates and facilitates the construction and/or modification of transmission lines, switch-yards, substations, including facility upgrades. Responsible for meeting the quality, scope, schedule, and financial objectives of construction projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages contractor work progress and completion while meeting Company and code standards and expectations per contract agreements. Coordinates field activities for electric distribution projects, including but not limited to large subdivisions, commercial developments, industrial, transmission, and major system improvement projects During construction processes, supports and coordinates project execution between internal and external customers to avoid/mitigate issues. Supports the project accountability for permanent in-service date. Performs field inspections and documents findings to ensure compliance with complex material, equipment, contract, or design specifications Develops procedures and practices relating to Company work or new equipment installations and operation Undertakes special assignments as directed Ability to recognize and address safety issues on-site Inspects and monitors the installation of customer built systems and contractor work for compliance and completeness Communicates verbally and in writing with customers, Company personnel, outside agencies and other utilities for purposes of project negotiations, assistance, information gathering, and departmental support Supports the scheduling and prioritizing of work to meet deadlines Provides assistance and training to contract inspectors, and must assist in the orientation and training of entry-level engineers or other departments Provides field support for the design and construction of electric distribution facilities Coordinates field activities for electric distribution projects which may include but not limited to field inspections for service entrance equipment, job site readiness, blue staking, coordinating special equipment needs, meter spots, services mapping, and obtaining required permits When directed by supervisor, ability to support application review process, perform load calculations, and generate residential and commercial ballpark estimates. May be required to be available to field damage calls and respond as needed. Assist in field investigations; conduct interviews with officials, agencies, contractors, homeowners, etc. and document to accurately portray and determine liability. Facilitate resolution to the legitimate extent and maintain working knowledge of the customer claims process. Reviews and supports post construction material reconciliation, as-built design, and contractor labor accuracy per approved design May be required for after-hours emergencies to assist with outages, storm restoration, etc. Provides training needs and assistance to other team members as necessary May be required to support in an interim Field Supervisor Role COMPETENCIES: Extensive knowledge of applicable OSHA, NEC, NESC, DOT, CFR, and PNM practices and standards. Makes sure work is performed in compliance with safety guidelines, company policies and procedures, work standards, various governmental agency regulations, and other related requirements Ability to manage, coordinate, plan, & organize several concurrent complex project and activities under required time constraints In-depth knowledge and understanding of right of way terms, environmental regulations & governmental guidelines Ability to balance project cost and timeline to support customer and Company requirements Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and construction designs Ability to effectively interface with a variety of internal and external customers In-depth understanding of union bargaining agreements and non-union contractual agreements In-depth understanding of construction methods, techniques, standards, compliance requirements and equipment required for construction and maintenance of electric distribution systems Experience in dealing with critical situations with minimal or no direction from supervisors In-depth knowledge of warehouse inventory system, material handling, and material reconciliation In-depth knowledge of the electric new service delivery workflow and standard processes and the ability to identify and implement process improvement. When acting in a leadership capacity, recognize and define objectives requiring action by the group QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or seven years experience related to the discipline. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a current, legally valid drivers license and meet the companys driving record requirements.
