Title: T&I Senior Contract Manager
Location: Boston, MA (on a hybrid schedule); Will consider exceptional remote candidates with Eastern Time Zone alignment Minimum of 5 Years' Contract Management Experience (Desirable Onshore/Offshore Experience) Turbine and T & I Experience Highly organized individuals who can lead a negotiation process; though they may not make the final decision, they must have the ability to make key decisions and to identify key areas of the negotiation when stakeholders have to be involved and when escalation is required This role also involves a lot of communication, transferable skills will be considered The individual should understand general contract clauses, etc.

The Role:
Senior Contracts Manager will report to the Contracts Director, develop contracting strategies and plans, and manage the tendering, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of offshore wind development contracts. The individual will assist in the management of contractual and commercial risks and seek out opportunities to optimize and drive the performance of various supplier contracts. The Senior Contract Manager is a critical role within the exciting new Offshore Business focusing on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects in the United States and will be part of the Contracts Team under the Project Services Group, working with a global team to ensure the business has effective relationships to deliver against their strategies. This position will be instrumental in the entire lifecycle management of multi[1]million-dollar contracts right from contract conceptualization, development, negotiation, award, execution to closeout, ensuring business’ position and interest are suitably served & protected when working with the contractors under these contracts.
Job Duties: Perform pre-award and post-award contract management activities consistent with category management and contracting strategy and process Attendance, leading, and providing contractual support in meetings, meetings with members of the Legal, Financial, Procurement and Insurance teams, and meetings with Contractors to ensure all parties are aware and informed about contract content and documentation Collaborate with cross functional teams in RFP/ ITT package preparation, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, contract drafting and award Implement the necessary processes and procedures required to develop and contract each offshore wind project Prepare, negotiate, and complete all business contracts with minimal supervision for the offshore wind business Act as primary focal point for internal & external stakeholders on all contractual matters from project inception to closeout Anticipate contractual and commercial risks, opportunities and HR-4-10000-02 threats and implement control measures in accordance with business’ policies and procedures Negotiation and resolution of complex contractual issues with strong commercial and contractual acumen Prepare Non-Disclosure Agreements, contract amendments and other contract types with minimal supervision Change Order management including ability to settle claims and disputes Coordinate all internal legal, insurance, procurement, and other necessary activities for projects Maintain value adding relationships with all contractors and suppliers Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety and cost targets are met and projects are implemented in a manner consistent with the contract terms and sound commercial and risk management practices Work within industry to identify potential for supply chain inclusion/expansion Work within Contracts and Project Teams as lead on contracting strategies and project business cases and financing Comfortable managing cross-functional and commercial matters independently Robust archive management of contract documents, amendments, correspondence, contractual deliveries, claims and disputes with the capacity to generate reliable reports Handle internal and external audits. Ensure contracting activities comply with business’ procedures & audit requirements Develop and present materials and analysis to senior leadership and influence senior management decision making Drive continuous improvement to improve processes and to ensure critical goals are met Provide contract support to one or more projects, if required Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills, Knowledge & Experience: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline – Engineering, Contract Management, Legal background, Project Management, Construction Management, or commercially orientated qualification IT literate, with the ability to operate Microsoft Office systems and other IT-based project management software. (Knowledge and previous experience of SAP is advantageous) Extensive commercial, contractual, technical, and practical knowledge of energy industry standards Experience managing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers preferably within the energy industry Experience with Requests for Proposals and tender processes for contracts Experience tracking contract information for implementation Extensive experience in the management of multidisciplinary HR-4-10000-02 contracting strategies Proven track record delivering complex contracts preferably within the energy industry Proactive and diligent approach with a high degree of self-motivation and flexibility in the event of unforeseen needs Excellent project management and leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced working environment and responsive to change Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sustainability reporting tools and databases
