We are looking for a TA&L Strategic & Operational Excellence Lead to join our Talent Acquisition & Learning (TA&L) team at our Brussels Headquarters, Belgium. About the Role
As the Strategic & Operational Excellence Lead, you will be at the forefront of optimizing TA&L’s strategy, operations, and financial efficiency. Your leadership will drive alignment, execution, and impact across talent and learning initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with business priorities. You will lead cross-functional projects, enhance financial and vendor processes, and leverage data-driven insights to fuel business and employee growth.
What you’ll do
Lead & Shape StrategyPartner with the Head of TA&L to define and execute strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with UCB’s broader objectives.Foster a shared understanding of goals within the team and drive engagement through clear communication and strategic roadmaps.Oversee key strategic projects ensuring smooth execution and measurable impact.Drive Team Leadership & EngagementLead, inspire, and align teams by facilitating weekly team stand-ups, quarterly TA&L meetings, and bi-annual offsites, of course also including your own direct reports.Act as a bridge between leadership, finance, and external partners, ensuring smooth collaboration and execution of initiatives.Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the TA&L function.Optimize Financial Processes & Budget ManagementOversee and manage the budget ensuring optimal resource allocation and return on investment.Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with Finance and leadership.Implement financial discipline and governance to enhance the efficiency and transparency of investments in talent and learning.Enhance Operational ExcellenceStreamline vendor management, procurement, and operational processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness.Establish best practices and frameworks to ensure the smooth execution of talent acquisition and learning operations.Drive a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for simplification and innovation.Leverage Data & Insights for Decision-MakingDevelop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of learning and talent growth initiatives.Work closely with data teams to generate strategic reports, including the Annual Report and Sustainability Report.Provide leadership with actionable insights, helping shape informed decisions and long-term strategies.

Experience: +10 years in operational excellence, PMO, financial processes, and reporting.Strategic Planning & Execution: Ability to develop and implement talent and learning strategies aligned with business priorities.Financial Acumen: Proven expertise in budget management, financial discipline, and optimizing learning investments.Data & Insights: Strong proficiency in analyzing key metrics, generating strategic reports, and using data for decision-making.Project & Vendor Management: Experience managing external partnerships and streamlining operational processes.Leadership & Communication: Exceptional ability to engage stakeholders, align teams, and drive impactful initiatives.
