Table Games Dealer Trainee Class-Grant Resort

Each selected applicant will be hired as a Dealer 1 prior to the first day of class. Each graduating applicant will be reclassified as Dealer 3 upon completion of course. 

 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): This class is designed for applicants to learn to deal craps, poker derivative games, and blackjack variants. 

 

Prior to class start, TG Training will evaluate each applicant via interview. 

 

Training Pay: $10/hour 

Average Pay: $8/hour base + $30 average hourly toke rate 

 

Work details: 

Selected applicants are required to pass both modules prior to working on the gaming floor. 

 

Class details:  Each selected applicant will attend class, gaining skill sets necessary to operate tables on the gaming floor (including the game of craps). 

Start Date: 2-24-2025 End Date: 5-15-2025 Class Times: 8am to 5pm Days: MON, TUE, WED, THU 

Module 1: (Weeks 1 - 8):   

Craps Course 

Selected applicants will learn how to deal the game of craps. 

Each applicant is required to successfully complete written and physical testing to complete the course. 

Written and physical testing will be held throughout the course.  Each student will have two attempts to pass each test.  Failure to pass either a written or physical test may result in reevaluation of employment. 

 

Module 2: (Weeks 9-12): Further education after the initial 8-week training. 

Blackjack 

Selected applicants will learn how to deal the game of blackjack. 

Each applicant is required to successfully complete written and physical testing to complete the course. 

Written and physical testing will be held throughout the course.  Each student will have two attempts to pass each test.  Failure to pass either a written or physical test may result in reevaluation of employment. 

Poker Derivative Games 

Selected applicants will learn how to deal poker derivative games. 

Each applicant is required to successfully complete written and physical testing to complete the course. 

Written and physical testing will be held throughout the course.  Each student will have two attempts to pass each test.  Failure to pass either a written or physical test may result in reevaluation of employment. 

After completion of course: 

Applicants successfully completing the course will be reclassified as D3 Dealers and will be assigned to available craps dealer schedules. 

To maintain employment, students are required to pass all written testing and physical testing pertaining to all above mentioned games. 

Applicants must attend every class. 

 

 

 
Primary Tasks: 

Serve and entertain Guests while enforcing the rules and maintaining the integrity of the game. 

Analyze customer play, protecting against cheating scams, and unusual or suspicious variations of play. 

Review and communicate table game activities with supervisors and managers. 

Answer Guest inquiries regarding general gaming procedures, payouts, etc. 

Clean work area as designated by management. 

Verify identification of customers when needed. 

Sign and date all paperwork as required. 

Provide excellent customer service skills and communication skills. 

Other duties as may be assigned. 
  

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 
 
MINIMUM 

Apply basic math (arithmetic, ratios, proportions, or conversions) 

Apply oral or written communication techniques. 

Must be highly customer focused and maintain a positive atmosphere and be friendly and informative as needed. 

Strong hand-eye coordination 

One-year prior experience (blackjack and carnival games such as Ultimate Texas Hold’em) dealing table games in a casino environment 
 

TARGET 
 

High School Diploma or GED 

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding all table games. 

Preference may be given to applicants with prior craps experience.
