Our Opportunity

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Tactical Buyer to join our Thales UK Procurement function. As a Tactical Buyer you will manage the transactional procurement process from Procurement Requisition (PR) to Procurement Order (PO).

What the role has to offer:

Effective and accurate processing of orders from purchase to payment (P2P)Creation and execution of Purchase Orders and their subsequent delivery to required technical and quality specifications, contractual conditions and total acquisition cost, supplier performance and relationship managementTimely and accurate acquisition of products and services for Thales UK, to ensure all requests and information is correctly received and understoodTimely resolution of issues, incidents and complaints (such as non-conformity, supplier returns, supplier performance issues, delayed deliveries, PO queries, invoices and payment queries etc.)Executing all activities in accordance with Chorus processes, including monitoring inventory and order book levels, work queues, lead times, unmatched invoices, supplier payments, CAPAs and Internal and External supplier auditsIssuing RFI/RFQs in support of business operations, programme and bid requirementMonitoring and improving supplier performance and escalate where necessary to Category / Suppler Performance Management and to participate and provide input in supplier reviews (QBRs)Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and improved cash management through effective supplier negotiation and/or supplier selection

About you

Ideally, you’ll:

Be proficient in working with Microsoft ExcelHave previous experience and demonstrated success working within ProcurementHave proven experience in working within a fast-paced environmentHave the ability to manage multiple suppliers and productsExcellent Stakeholder Management skills are essential for this role.Possess excellent oral and written communication skillsAn adequate (but not specialist) understanding of technical and non-technical requirements.Be delivery oriented while ensuring the budget and all contractual commitments are met.Have the ability to plan ahead and solve challenging operational issue
