Context/Purpose of the Role

ISC R&A Baileys produces 9m EUs of finished goods across 2 sites in Ireland and the UK.  The Supply Planning team interprets signals from domestic and export markets and translates these into supply and scheduled production plans, with the objective of optimising customer service, inventory, capacity and cost. The function is responding to increasing SKUs, packaging and component complexity, and it is operating in environments that are becoming increasingly utilised from a supply perspective.  Diageo Supply Chain & Procurement (DSC&P) planning is building a world class organisation that is based on standardised processes, ways of working and employing standard methodology in planning approaches to support delivery of the DSC&P and Diageo performance ambition.

This role is a vital link between Plan, Source, Make, Move, Compliance and 3rd Party functions to enable delivery of supply and scheduled production plans that meet business and customer needs. This will be delivered via highly developed partnerships and adopting an Integrated Business Management approach.  Adherence to all supply and scheduling planning processes for operations in Ireland and the UK in line with the objectives of the DSC.  Providing Material availability and use in line with forecast by optimised end-to-end inventory including safety stocks.  Ensuring the clear visibility of material requirements in operational to tactical planning horizons to Suppliers, Logistics Operations and Procurement.  Maintenance and update of BOMs and SKUs relating to changes of source materials.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Produce clear and concise supply plans to guarantee availability of product to meet customer demand on time and in full to world-class standards while maximising production efficiency.  Manage capacity horizon at 3 to 18 months at 2 packaging plants, liquid processing plants and shipping to meet requirements.

Own the Supply review with Suppliers and 3rd parties, balancing demand and supply signals whilst ensuring strategy and customers wants and needs can be delivered.

Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholder at all levels within the organisation and use these relationships to deliver the DSC strategy.

Play a lead role in run and improve the business, Diageo Supply Chain Projects, Continuous Improvement agenda, Product Innovation and Renovation Processes, balancing need for flexibility with commitments to service, cost and quality.

Ensure excellent communications of forward plans to each participant in supply chain (e.g., Plan, Source, Make, Move and 3rd Parties).

Coordination of the plan with suppliers, working collaboratively with all functions to ensure the allocated capacity and required safety stocks are in place for manufacturing requirements for both sites.

Manage logistics needs with 3rd Party Logistics partners and ensure storage requirements are minimised to manage cost control & savings.

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (FTA and others).

Analyse replenishment requirements for exceptions and ensure resolution in line with business priorities and generate risk mitigation plans.

Address any supply disruption or conflict situation through consensus solution or recommendation for issues.

The role holder must understand the financial implications of creating the optimal plan to ensure supply, line efficiency strategies and stock holding are delivered against target.

Generates short term plans for call off liquid and materials for 13.5m cases of finished goods across 9 packaging lines.

Builds excellent relationships with an extensive number of internal and external contacts from Plan, Source, Make, Move, Brand Technical, 3PLs, 3rd party customers, Finance and Legal.

Demonstrates the Diageo capability to visualise what is best in class and seeks to deliver this through improve the business forums and motivate change.

Acts like an owner in terms of delivery approach to ensure that supply chain planning initiatives are customer focused and deliver/exceed our Customer Service Performance Promise..

Demonstrates authenticity, candour and a strong engagement ethos in line with Diageo values and behaviours.  Builds trust, a great teammate, yet capable of operating independently.

Skills and Experience Required:

BSc in Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent

3 to 5 years Supply chain planning experience in an FMCG would be advantageous.

Good knowledge and understanding of Demand and Supply Planning, Operations, Logistics and Route to Market is desirable.

Excellent IT and numerical skills, to exploit benefits of SAP ECC6, SAP APO and SAP analysis Microsoft office.
