Job Description

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Avani+ Fares Maldives employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their Team Members. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are to:

To maintain uniforms and linen in a good condition by doing necessary repair works and save costs by using discarded linen for rags, pillow protectors, napkins etc.To assist linen room/uniform room. To work on a rotation basis within the Housekeeping, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and adhering to the standards required by the hotel.To ensure all sewing supplies required are always available.To report any malfunction of equipment to the Engineering department and to coordinate to get external support as required for tailoring machines and embroidery machine.To assist the linen and valet room when needed.Assists uniform room Attendants in sorting out linen and uniform according to repairs to be done.To assist and record test wash linen and to forward report to Housekeeping Manager.To coordinate with laundry valet for billing requirements of tailoring requests of guest rooms.To carry out minor repair on room and F&B linen to prolong the life of linen.Prepare dusters and cleaning cloths for operational department with the discarded linen according to the system established.

QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in a similar role and knowledge in laundry operations.Candidate must be qualified and trained with professional tailoring skills and made previous experiences in a similar position, preferable within a hotel.Knowledge of how to create various types of clothing items.Fluent in English, and fair in one other language is an advantage.Must currently hold the role applying for.Should have qualifications matching to position applying for.A positive and energetic attitude.Be able to work under pressure & flexible to work within a dynamic team environment.Excellent team player.Trackable references to support the role applied for.
