Job Description
The Force Tracking Mission Management Center (FT MMC) Team Awareness Kit (TAK) Operations Support Specialist provides operational and technical expertise in supporting mission-critical systems. This position focuses on ensuring seamless integration, data exchange, and operational readiness between TAK and the Force Tracking Advanced Management System (FTAMS). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing TAK deployments, maintaining system reliability, and optimizing interoperability between TAK and FTAMS to enhance situational awareness and operational decision-making.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, monitor, and maintain TAK systems within the Force Tracking Mission Management Center.Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting for TAK-related issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.Train and assist operators in the effective use of TAK applications for mission-critical operations.Develop and maintain processes for the integration and data exchange between TAK and FTAMS.Ensure secure, accurate, and timely transfer of geospatial and operational data between systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data-sharing protocols and address integration challenges.Configure TAK systems to meet mission requirements, including setting up custom geospatial layers, communication channels, and user permissions.Monitor TAK network connections, server performance, and data synchronization with FTAMS.Manage TAK software updates, patches, and enhancements to ensure system reliability and security.Work closely with FTAMS developers, system integrators, and mission planners to align TAK capabilities with operational needs.Serve as a liaison between TAK users and FT MMC leadership to gather feedback and implement system improvements.Document and report integration metrics, operational insights, and system status to stakeholders.Essential Skills3+ years of experience with TAK or related geospatial systems in an operational or technical support role.Familiarity with FTAMS or similar force tracking and mission management systems.Experience with data integration processes, APIs, and protocols.Strong understanding of network communications, including TCP/IP, multicast, and secure data transmission.Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in real-time operational environments.Active DoD security clearance (Top Secret / SCI).Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience with geospatial data formats and GIS tools (e.g., GeoJSON, KML, ArcGIS).Knowledge of DoD force tracking systems and operational concepts.Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) or IT systems (e.g., AWS, Microsoft).Experience with VMWare.Work Environment
This position is located in Building 3 Peterson MMC, a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The role supports the Army Space and Missile Command under the D3I contract. The work environment involves working with cutting-edge technology that supports the Warfighter. The contract has more than 2 years left, ensuring job stability.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.28
