Essential Job Functions:

The partner must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation:

Interact daily with Hiring Managers to provide staffing support in the areas of sourcing, screening and selection of qualified applicants.

Coordinate position vacancies using an applicant tracking system (ATS) for posting vacancies, searching the database, reviewing resumes, forwarding resumes and maintaining candidate activity. Train hiring managers on the ATS so they may effectively select qualified candidates.

Collaborate with Hiring Managers on recruitment strategy and programs. Support the Manager in the development of advertising strategies to attract qualified applicants to Petco.

Interview candidates to determine knowledge, skills, and abilities compared to job scope and requirements. Evaluate candidate fit to company needs and make recommendation to hiring managers based on these interviews.

Monitor the oversight of pre-employment assessments and screening to ensure effectiveness and legal compliance. Work with selected vendor to determine appropriateness of screening tools (tests) for various positions, to identify new tests needed for positions, and ensure that the tests are being used appropriately/consistently.

Perform reference checks, education verification and background checks as required.

Negotiate offers and draft offer letters in accordance with policy and procedures.

Process new hire paperwork.

Coordinate candidate and incumbent relocations to ensure adherence to company policy and procedures.

Assist with the development and maintenance of programs targeted towards recruitment and retention of qualified candidates such as college recruitment, female and minority recruitment and employee referral programs. Act as the liaison for local colleges and high schools.

Coordinate the temporary labor needs for National Support Center, including filling orders and auditing invoices for accuracy prior to payment. Act as the liaison between NSC Managers and the onsite agency representative to discuss staffing issues (biweekly), address issues that arise filling orders and identify new back-up vendors that are authorized to work with the onsite agency.

Liaison with ad agency for all print-media advertising and other recruitment advertising to include recruitment brochures and campaigns. Maintain staffing resources to include signage and give-away items for job fairs.

Act as the Equal Employment Officer to ensure the company attracts, employs and maintains hiring practices for a diverse workforce.

Assist with the development of policies and procedures regarding staffing practices and communicate to corporate and field employees new and existing policies and procedures.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or the equivalent (GED) required. 4-year degree preferred.

Familiarity with employment practices and 1-3 years recruiting experience. High-volume recruiting experience strongly preferred.

Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills are necessary for interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, communicating with internal and external customers and writing advertisements, offer letters, policies and procedures, etc.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and applicant tracking systems.
