Talent Acquisition Manager - Retail and Hospitality – Maternity Cover
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to oversee talent acquisition for two of the main operational divisions of Fortnum & Mason: Retail and Hospitality. Working in partnership with various leadership and management teams, they will help us to source, attract and hire outstanding talent for these two customer channels, in order underpin the ongoing and sustainable success of the business and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to act as maternity cover for the role holder. Working closely alongside the Talent Acquisition Manager - Head Office and leading a small team of direct reports, but within a broader People department, they will be passionate about creating extraordinary and distinct candidate and employee experiences, helping us to seek out and attract market leading skills, competencies and personalities which embody our brand and purpose, We Make Joy every day. They will also help us to access and build relationships with new communities and talent pools, support and build on our early career offering and attract new skills for the future which will propel the business forward.

Key Accountabilities:
Strategic
* Oversight and leadership of the talent acquisition strategy for Retail & Hospitality and resulting recruitment life cycle which supports both all year round hiring and Peak needs.
* Accountable for the delivery of Fortnum’s broader talent strategy, working in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Manager – Head Office.
* Advise on likely sources of talent and provision of detailed, bespoke strategies that help us to attract outstanding diverse talent, from a competency and values perspective.
* Design and oversight of a targeted outreach / marketing program to access strategic talent pools, to include universities, colleges, training academies, etc which bring our employer brand to life in a distinct and meaningful way.
* Seek out new talent pools and partners to support our diversity and inclusion ambitions, and to build relationships with the local community and relevant charities.
* Tracking and reporting of department performance aligned to set of strategic KPIs.
* Joint management and oversight of agency PSL (terms and list reviewed annually reflect Fortnum’s needs) for both full time and interim support.
* Tracking and provision of insight into talent market trends, competitor activity and candidate expectations to help us to evolve our strategies accordingly.
* Building relationships with third parties and agencies who can provide insight into the broader talent landscape and its evolution.
* Maintain relationships with LinkedIn, Indeed, job boards and media buying partners which support our talent strategy in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Manager- Head Office.
* Oversee and track the performance of the employee referral scheme.
* Align strategies and workflows to ensure 100% compliance with employment law.
* Contribute to pay benchmarking for specific roles and disciplines.
Best practice
* Build out robust interview questions aligned to our values, competency and leadership expectations.
* Support managers with hiring decisions, providing them with interview coaching and guidance when needed.
* Act as ambassadors to the brand both internal and externally.
Employer Brand and Employee Experience
* Working with Employer Brand, to ensure Fortnum’s career portal is regularly refreshed and supports an outstanding candidate experience.
* Focus on providing outstanding customer and employee experiences in conjunction with the broader People Team.
* Vital contributor to our employer brand work and strategy.
* Leads continuous improvement in the function, working closely with the People Services team on automation / innovation / process improvement and contributes to broader projects in the People department.
* Partners with the business on a day-to-day business and works closely with the HRBPs & L&D to support their broader people needs and evolving skill requirements, as well as an Early Careers offering.
Management
* Oversee the performance and development of direct reports, helping them to acquire new skills and experiences, and to build a career in the People function.
* Create a welcoming and high performing team culture, which is renowned for its integrity, standards, resilience, empathy and work ethic.
* Act as a vital partner to the broader People team and business, and sounding board in times of organisational change.
* Wired to drive constant positive change and improvement.
* Full budget oversight and management in partnership with Talent Acquisition Manager- Head Office.
We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:
* Significant stakeholder management experience at a senior level in a retail and/ or hospitality business.
* Significant experience of delivering talent acquisition; understanding and implementing methodologies.
* Able and used to working successfully within HR functions within shared accountabilities.
* Analytical, commercial and able to use data to influence.
* Experienced in resourcing different roles across an organisation.
* Able to place quality candidates while working volume roles.
* Delivery record and able to realistically manage expectations.
* Able to work with minimal direction and navigate ambiguity, managing self and others to a successful outcome.
* Comfortable user of ATS (ideally PeopleXD), IT, general systems, jobs sites, social media, etc.
* Passion for creating great candidate experience through onboarding and beyond.
* Able to challenge in an appropriate style.
