This strategic position will help leadership fill critical roles within the company and help foster an engaged workplace. **Job Responsibilities** **Recruitment and Sourcing** + Candidate Identification & Sourcing: Finding and recruiting candidates to fill open positions across the organization. + Job Postings: Creating and posting job openings to attract potential candidates. + Career Fairs & Events: Attending career fairs and educational events to network and recruit new talent. **Employee Benefits** + Benefit Renewal: Participating in the annual benefit renewal process for employees. + New Hire Benefits: Activating benefits for new employees and addressing any benefit-related inquiries. **New Hire Process** + Onboarding: Managing the onboarding process for new employees, which includes conducting interviews, handling paperwork, testing, background checks, and verifying employment eligibility (E-Verify). **Policy Development and Compliance** + Policy Creation & Implementation: Developing and implementing company policies related to HR practices. + Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the company adheres to state and federal regulations such as FMLA, OSHA, ADA, and EEO. **Employee Relations** + Employee Assistance: Helping resolve employee relations issues and concerns. + Team Performance & Morale: Offering guidance to leadership to enhance employee engagement, performance, and morale. **Safety and Compliance** + Collaboration with Safety Department: Partnering with safety teams to ensure workplace safety and investigate incidents. + Workers' Compensation: Assisting with workers' compensation claims and managing return-to-work programs. + Drug & Alcohol Programs: Co-managing workplace drug and alcohol testing programs. **Performance Management** + Annual Appraisals: Providing feedback on employee performance to assist in the annual review process. **Legal and Vendor Relations** + Legal Counsel Coordination: Working with legal professionals to address relevant HR issues. + Vendor & Customer Relations: Maintaining relationships with vendors and customers. **Other Administrative Tasks** + Event Planning: Assisting in organizing events such as annual meetings. + EEO/AA Representation: Acting as a representative for Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action matters. + Unemployment Reports: Managing unemployment claims and related hearings. **Required Skills:** + Employment Law Knowledge: Familiarity with employment laws such as FMLA, OSHA, ADA, and EEO. + Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management. + Organization: Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively. + Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and private information with discretion. + Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other technology tools for HR-related tasks. + Interpersonal Skills: Comfort in interacting with employees across all levels of the organization. **Preferred Skills:** + Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. + Software Experience: Familiarity with HR software such as Sage 300 (accounting), Arcoro (applicant tracking), and various benefits portals. + Unemployment Knowledge: Understanding of the Iowa unemployment insurance process.
