The Talent Acquisition Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring OHSU attracts, recruits and hires top talent for the OHSU Hospital Expansion Project (OHEP). This large scale, complex project will involve the recruitment and hiring of approximately 800 FTE for various positions, clinical and non- clinical. The project initially involves the In-Patient Addition (IPA)-new tower, then the backfill of space within the Kohler Pavilion, as a result of other units moving. The In-Patient Addition is expected to open April 1, 2026.
This position oversees the recruitment process, develops strategies, monitors progress, aligns resources, and pivots when necessary to meet targets and ensure the success of the project. They ensure alignment with overall OHSU recruitment strategy, initiatives and best practices. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the recruitment project team. The Talent Acquisition Supervisor will partner closely with the HR Project Manager, Human Resources
leadership and the Centers of Expertise, operations leaders and other stakeholders across the Healthcare Mission. The position will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition.
This is a hybrid position. During the project, it will include working on-site in Portland, Oregon, as well as events in the metro area, along with working from home. The position will begin immediately. It is time-limited. The anticipated end date of this position will be approximately June 30, 2026, based on the anticipated timeline of the in-patient addition and the backfill of Kohler Pavilion.
Function/Duties of PositionRecruitment Project Team Supervision:
Provides leadership, coaching and training to the Recruitment Project Team Members. Provides counseling and guidance to employees of the project team/direct reports regarding performance, KPIs, meeting service level agreements, and hiring target accountabilities for the project. Provides guidance on policies, procedures and practices on OHSU recruitment and hiring and the collective bargaining agreements. Addresses and resolves complex or escalated customer service issues.Recruitment Strategies for Positions:
Builds, implements and measures outcomes of recruitment strategies for positions within the scope of the project. Leads team in the development of, and drives the execution of recruitment plans to recruit diverse talent for positions. Researches, recommends and implements innovative sourcing, efficient recruitment processes and selection best practices to ensure timely and well qualified talent is hired by the identified timelines.Processes- Management & Oversight:
Aligns processes for high volume recruitment and hiring for the project. Tracks and analyzes metrics and reporting on performance and outcomes. Addresses any potential bottlenecks proactively.Collaboration between Stakeholders and Recruitment Project Team:
Works closely with project managers and operations leadership to understand talent needs. Engages proactively and collaboratively with Talent Acquisition team members, other HR Centers of Expertise, HR Business Partners. Collaborates with HR leadership and operations leaders from planning through project completion. Ensures a strong line of communication within Recruitment Project Team, Talent Acquisition Team, HR leadership, operations leadership on project deliverables, timelines, updates, outcomes and risks.Requisition Load:
Manages their own req load that includes key, high profile or hard to fill roles, and leadership roles. Provides full cycle recruitment service for their reqs. Required QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.Experience:
5 years of progressive HR recruitment experience, to include corporate recruiting within a large employer (>5000 employees). Experience must include at least 2 years’ experience supervising a recruitment team.Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
Strong demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws, rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreements. Industry-specific knowledge to enable incumbent to lead a team recruiting talent for a hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to develop, deploy and adapt sourcing and other recruitment strategies across multiple professions, job levels and position types.People management skills, including the ability to foster collaboration and build trust and relationships with and among team members, and foster a team culture of engagement and accountability. Experience recruiting for a company expansion, new facility opening. Experience in HR recruitment in healthcare or academic medical center. Additional DetailsThis is a hybrid remote position. It will be hybrid, some work from home, but with on-site meetings and time on campus in Portland, Oregon, as well as events within the Portland metro area.
Work hours are as required to complete assignment, core business hours are 8 am to 5 pm PST, Monday through Friday. There will be need to participate in recruit and hiring activities which can occur outside core hours, ie. evenings or weekends.
