Working within the broader Talent Management Division, the Engagement & Recognition Team manages agency-wide events, recognition programs, and various initiatives that celebrate and support TriMet employees. Through cross-functional collaboration, the team works closely with different departments, leadership, and project teams to ensure alignment with employee needs and removing barriers. Focused on continuously evolving programs, our small but mighty team prioritizes employee feedback, inclusion, and engagement, with a deep commitment to creating a workplace where every employee feels valued and connected. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to join our team as an Engagement & Recognition Intern. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in organizing and optimizing our Employee Recognition platform (Achievers). Working closely with our Employee Engagement and Recognition Team, you will lead the charge in analyzing current unitization rates, working cross-functionally to develop strategies to increase participation agency-wide and launch a campaign to increase engagement. The intern selected will be able to oversee this project from start to finish and gain valuable insight into employee engagement. What You’ll Do: 1) Assess the Employee Recognition platform’s functionality, how it’s currently being used, reporting capabilities and identifying Divisions with the both the lowest and highest participation rates. 2) Work with Employee Engagement Team and Divisional Leadership to identify barriers of participation and potential avenues to drive more engagement. 4) In partnership with the Engagement and Retention Team, you will outline a campaign strategy that includes timeline, incentives, theme and communication avenues. 3) Develop and lead a campaign to increase employee engagement within the platform, focusing on Front Line workers. 5) Measure success of the campaign with both quantitative and qualitative data in a campaign overview. 5) Contribute innovative ideas and recommendation for improving Employee Engagement long term. TriMet's Internships are excellent opportunities to build skills, gain experience, develop connections with industry professionals and develop work samples for a portfolio. Relevant experience is useful, but most important is a willingness and excitement to learn. This Internship is performed in-person. Applicants must be available to work in-person in the Portland Metro region of Oregon. This posting will close February 28th, 2025 at 5pm PST or when a candidate is selected. Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings. Essential Functions 1. Various administrative functions including: updating the information and supporting the full-cycle recruitment function within TriMet’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) - NEOGOV. 2. Support recruiting by sourcing candidates for various agency positions and participating in Hiring events (virtual and in-person) 3. Support selection process by screening resumes and applications and scheduling and confirming interviews with candidates 4. Support evaluation steps by learning to complete and review work records, references reports, DMV records, and background checks. 5. Providing day-to-day operational functions for the Recruiting team with the use of Microsoft Office Suite, the ATS and other various technology systems. 6. Supporting recruiting processes; suggest, document, and implement improvements. Position Requirements Must be a current or incoming Junior or Senior or w orking toward a college degree in related field (human resource management, organizational development, industrial organizational psychology, or a recent Graduate within the last 12 months . Selection Criteria Type of Position / Grade / FLSA Non-Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time (40 hours/week), Temporary. Internships will run May/June through August/September.
