TAP & EMPLOYMENT READINESS SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a TAP & EMPLOYMENT READINESS SPECIALIST in the Family Readiness Division of NSF DAHLGREN. Responsibilities You will facilitate and provide operational management and oversight of Transition Assistance Program services for transitioning military members and/or family members, retirees, reservists, and DoD civilian members. You will facilitate classes for customers on applying professional analytical skills and negotiation techniques to identify job opportunities. You will oversee the recruitment, screening, placement, orientation, support, recognitions, and evaluation of Fleet and Family Support Center volunteers. You will maintain a library or resource center of current TAP and FERP information, curriculum, and resources and provide service members with authorized physical or digital materials. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising service members and family members on Transition Assistance Program and employment services; 2) Facilitating training courses and explaining course materials and their relevance and applicability to service members and families; 3) Advising separated service members and families on veterans' benefits to include medical, educational, employment, and finances; 4) Coordinating with TAP interagency partners and vetted non-federal entities on TAP and employment related events, seminars, and webinars to help military members and civilian employees resolve issues.
