Targeted Youth Support Worker

The Service & Team:

Targeted Youth Workers/ Youth Support Workers make a real difference to the lives of children and their families in Cornwall. As part of Children & Family Services within the Together for Families Directorate we are looking for people who also believe that young people in Cornwall deserve the very best and who will put their needs at the heart of everything they do, we are looking for people who share our determination to improve young people's lives and make a brighter future

 

The Role:

We have the following posts available:

Mid Cornwall: 1 x full time post in Family Assessment & Support Teams covering St Austell areaWe also have posts becoming available across the East, Mid and West of the County and applications for other localities will also be considered

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.                     

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

 

Working Pattern:

Posts are full time - 37 hours a week ( Job share could be considered) Principally Mon-Fri  8.45am-5.15pm ( 4.45pm on a Friday) but some flexibility is required to meet the need of Young people at times outside of the core hours.  

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

You will need to hold a JNC Qualification or equivalent in Youth and Community Work, at Level 3,4.6+ or significant experience of delivering community based or targeted youth work and be willing to work towards the qualification. You must demonstrate how you have worked directly with young people to support their Social,emotional or educational needs
