Tax Accountant

The Role

The Tax Accountant is responsible for providing assistance to the Tax Manager to ensure the accurate and timely lodgment of the Group’s tax compliance requirements, including but not limited to, BAS, IAS, FBT, R&D and income tax. The Tax Accountant is also responsible for providing assistance with the Group’s transfer pricing obligations, employment tax matters and ad-hoc business queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the monthly/quarterly BAS and IAS Prepare the annual FBT return Prepare the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) Assist the Tax Manager with ESS reporting Provide information required for the group R&D claims Provide information required for the group income tax return Assist with the half-yearly and annual tax effect reporting Review monthly accounting fixed asset reconciliations and maintain and update the Tax fixed asset register Assist the Tax Manager with Transfer Pricing requirements Assist the tax manager with tax compliance in foreign jurisdictions (New Zealand) Provide ad-hoc tax advice to the business

Safety, Quality & Environment

Report safety issues to immediate supervisor. Take steps to address safety issues and risk within your control/capability to do so. Ensure quality documentation is reviewed and stored in accordance with SRG guidelines.  

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or business-related field. Professional accounting designation (CA, CPA or equivalent) or working towards certification. Minimum of 2 years of related tax experience Industrials industry experience an advantage. Experience with Dynamics 365 and/or Jobpac an advantage.
