Job Description
Join a dynamic tax department at a growing and diverse publicly traded company. Learn from and grow with a team of certified public accountants with various backgrounds. You will be an integral part of a high-performing team with a particular focus on the federal and state income tax compliance of the company and its multiple joint ventures. Prepare federal and state income tax filings and supporting documentation, as well as assist with international tax compliance efforts. Provide assistance with tax examinations and correspondence. Conduct occasional research and planning exercises. Contribute to the overall administration of the company’s tax and financial reporting policies.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and state income tax filings and supporting documentation.Assist with and prepare state apportionment work-papers.Provide assistance related to state income tax audits.Prepare various gross receipt tax return filings.Analyze various tax correspondence and route to responsible parties.Perform occasional income tax research and assist with tax planning analysis.Assist with the overall administration of the company’s tax policy.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Taxation.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.1+ years of tax compliance and return preparation experience in a public accounting firm or other commercial business.Experience with tax research and planning.General knowledge of GAAP.Multi-state tax preparation experience preferred.Strong organizational skills.Efficiency and accountability in managing tasks.Excellent business judgment and strong analytical skills.Extensive Microsoft Excel experience, including pivot tables.Ability to work independently.Strong and confident communication style.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Thompson Reuters tax software.Previous experience in public accounting.Work Environment
Located in Lincoln. Work schedule includes 3 days in office and 2 remote days, with flexible selection of remote days. The team is small, consisting of a manager and two others, with a larger corporate tax team of 10. The role involves complicated and interesting tax work without requiring CPA hours, promoting a work-life balance with a 40-45 hour work week.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
