Responsibilities
As a Tax Advisor, your responsibilities will be primarily ill be primarily focused around U.S. income tax compliance. The role will also support the transaction tax and tax provision processes as needed. This position will report to the Tax Manager, US Transaction Tax & US Inc. Tax Support, and work closely with a worldwide Sales, Accounting and Finance organizations in the US and at a shared services center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
Prepare and/or review U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax returns.Maintain processes related to U.S. income and franchise tax compliance, including (but not limited to):ExtensionsTax paymentsTax calendarsTax noticesWorkpapers and support filesPartner with outside tax providers, as neededAssist with aspects of any IRS and state income tax examinsations as they ariseSupport preparation of U.S. GAAP worldwide tax provisions (ASC 740) for year- end financial statements.Assist with sales & use tax/GST and property tax processes as needed.Timely update budget accrual schedules.Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.Support the business function with applicable reporting documentation and FATCA/CRS documentation.Utilize tax technologies (such as Onesource) needed for tax provision and tax compliance preparation.Conduct tax research as needed to support return or tax examination positions. QualificationsThe successful candidate will have the following experience:
Equivalent to a four-year undergraduate degree (Bachelors) degree in Accounting/FinanceAt least 1 year of income tax experience in private industry and/or public accountingProficient knowledge of basic software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPointFlexibility in working with team members in different time zonesAbility to conduct research using various sources including RIA, CCH, etc. and effectively communicate results in the form of discussion, presentation or technical memorandumAbility to work independently, as well as within cross-functional teamsAbility to perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Fluent in English
Other preferences:
Exposure to U.S. income taxes as well as working knowledge of foreign country tax regimes Exposure to OneSource tax provision and/or other return preparation software
