The Tax team is responsible for external and internal corporate tax reporting, compliance, provision, and audit defense as well as providing strategic consulting for the Firm. Tax is viewed internally as a ‘value generating’ function. Tax has significant interaction with other associates within the Finance Department, other Corporate Resource Groups and Business Units to achieve their objectives. The team is also involved in other tax projects and initiatives. The Tax Analyst supports the overall tax function and can be involved with federal income tax, international tax, multi-state income tax, indirect tax, tax accounting and many other tax projects and initiatives.

As a Tax Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
Federal and State Income Tax Compliance: Assist with data gathering, calculations and analysis for Baird’s annual federal and state income tax returns as well as quarterly estimated payments and extensions. Assist with resolving both federal and state income tax notices.US International Tax Compliance and Transfer Pricing: Assist with reporting requirements of foreign operations from a U.S perspective such as calculating current year earnings and profits, Subpart F, & Global Low Intangible Income (“GILTI”) to be included in the federal income tax return. Assist with transfer pricing calculations along with reporting requirements.Tax Provision and Income Tax Accounting: Assist with the computation of monthly income tax expense. Participate and be key contributor to interim and year-end tax provision calculations. Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts on a monthly and annual basis.Sales & Use Tax: Assist with sales/use tax compliance responsibilities including analysis, return preparation and filing, payments, and journal entries. Assist with resolving sales and use tax notices. Respond to business inquiries.Audit Support: Assist with federal and state income tax and sales & use tax audits as they arise.Property Tax: Assist with property tax compliance and analysis.Special Projects: Participate in key team-wide or department-wide initiatives to improve overall performance and support strategic initiatives.What we will look for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related field.0-2 years tax experience with a desire to learn corporate taxation.Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of a project and work independently as needed.Superior organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities while striving for accuracy and adhering to specific deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively while proactively communicating with people at all levels.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Experience with software/technology tools such as Microsoft Excel, ONESOURCE Tax Provision (or similar), SAGE Fixed Assets, PeopleSoft, Alteryx, and Power BI a plus, but not required.Check out our , which is a summary of our benefits and compensation.
