Tax Analyst, State Tax – Corporate Tax – Decatur, IL
This is a full-time exempt level position.

Position Summary:
We are searching for a self-motivated, enthusiastic tax analyst to join our corporate tax department, who will report to the Director of State Taxes. The candidate will be part of our state tax group with duties that will concentrate in the state area and will be involved  with all elements of the state income and franchise tax function.  Included will be the filing of state income and franchise tax returns for a multitude of business entities, gathering state apportionment data and importing that data into our tax software,  filing annual reports and business licenses, completing special projects, tax research and planning.  The position will involve identifying, researching and analyzing tax law regarding accounting and business transactions.  Additionally, the candidate will have opportunities to assist in other areas of the department.  This position provides broad exposure to all of ADM’s business divisions and companies and will work with

Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration (with accounting emphasis)Preferred 3-5 years accounting experienceExperience in a corporate tax department or CPA firm’s tax group a strong plusCPA or advance degree a plus, but not requiredInformation technology experience ( HFM, IBM, JDE, and SAP) a plusFamiliarity with electronic tax research tools (e.g. RIA, BNA, CCH) and tax compliance software (e.g. CorpTax) a plusJob Requirements:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to function independently and decisively in a fast paced and priority changing environmentSkilled at managing multiple projects and priorities to meet numerous deadlinesProficient with MS Office SuiteResponsibilities:Calculate and prepare state income, franchise and miscellaneous tax returnsRequest, compile, calculate, analyze and reconcile apportionment dataCalculate and prepare state estimates and extensions, including payment requestsPrepare tax accrual journal entries and account reconciliationsResearch and analyze tax jurisdiction notices and communicate with state representativesAnalyze tax data from various systems and functionsAssist with tax special projects (e.g., refunds, credits, incentives, law change impact analysis, etc.)Assist global tax accounting with effective tax rate and closing activitiesAssist with federal subsidiary returns and domestic FCIR packagesCoordinate preparation of miscellaneous tax returns and business licenses with GBSExcited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
