Tax Associate - US Corporate Compliance
**Position Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our team, based in India, focusing on US corporate tax compliance. As a Tax Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's tax compliance efforts and ensuring adherence to US tax laws and regulations.
**What You Will Do**
1. Assist in the preparation and review of US federal and state tax returns for the company, under the guidance of a tax senior in India and a manager in the United States.
2. Conduct research on tax issues, regulations, and rulings to support tax compliance activities.
3. Assist in analyzing financial data and transactions to determine how they should be treated for tax purposes.
4. Support the coordination with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely completion of tax filings and the tax provision.
5. Help maintain accurate tax records and documentation, including tax provisions and transfer pricing documentation.
6. Stay updated on changes to US tax laws (like TCJA) and regulations and assist in communicating implications to your tax senior and tax manager.
7. Assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities and provide support in drafting tax memos.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to address tax-related issues and ensure compliance.
**To Be Successful You Will Have**
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a plus.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in USA tax compliance.
3. Basic understanding of US tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and international tax concepts including familiarity with Tax Provision concepts.
4. Proficiency with Thomson Reuters One Source OIT tax software and Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
5. Strong Technology skills with advanced knowledge of Excel.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
7. Strong Organizational skills with good Time Management.
8. Strong writing skills
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaborate with colleagues from many different cultures in a hybrid/remote team environment.
10. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
11. Experience working with multinational corporations or accounting firms is a plus.
