Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Data Officer to join our Group Tax team. The successful candidate will lead our efforts around tax data management for the group. The role will ensure that the tax community within Volvo Group is working in accordance with strategy, has access to the correct data and capabilities needed for optimized tax compliance and advisory services.
Background
The Group tax department of Volvo is part of Group Finance. The tax community consists of more than 130 tax specialists located globally, working on strategic tax topics, global/regional tax projects and delivering tax compliance.
Volvo Group has invested heavily in tax transformation in recent years in the transformation framework “Tax Compliance 2.0”, looking into making all tax compliance processes as efficient as possible with a high degree of automation. Technology is a key enabler and in 2024 a new Tax technology function was formed to put further focus on ongoing technology work.
We now look for a tax data officer to support the growth of the technology team and define future way of working, closely collaborating with our IT department.
Define and maintain the overall tax data strategy and governance. Lead defined resources, supporting the tax community in projects and by defining capabilities and tooling needed for them to work efficiently with tax data and achieve the defined strategic objectives. You will represent the tax department in strategic projects related to data topics and act as the main point of contact for any data-related questions to/from Volvo IT. You will be the owner of the data cornerstones in our transformation framework “Tax Compliance 2.0.” You will serve as the key stakeholder for tax data in our group wide data platform and other finance data solutions. You will act as the key stakeholder from a tax perspective in ERP, Tax Engine projects and lead our AI initiatives related to taxes.
Qualifications
Over 8 years of experience working with data governance or transformation in a tax context. You could be a senior tax business stakeholder or come from a tech background having solid experience as a Business Relations Manager, Product manager or similar role working closely with tax teams. You have experience working with Data platform projects in a tax context. In case you have experience with SAP-related projects and/or Tax Engine projects it is a merit, but not an absolute requirement. Proficiency in English is an absolute requirement; Swedish is preferred but not required.
