Job Summary:

 

The Tax Director will lead DuraServ’s tax-related functions and work with internal cross-functional teams and external tax advisors on tax compliance, analysis, and research.  The role will review, implement, and coordinate all tax-related matters and policies.  The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

 


Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Manage the Company’s tax function to ensure proper compliance and timely filings and all tax-related matters are reviewed, implemented, and coordinated appropriately across the CompanyAssist and coordinate with external tax advisors on all compliance, audits, filings, and payment requirementsServe as the primary contact for all sales/use and property tax matters at the CompanyReview and reconcile all tax-related journal entries and general ledger accounts for accuracyManage and continually assess the Company’s tax processes and ensure necessary improvements are implemented and coordinated effectivelyImplement and update processes as needed to reflect changes in applicable state and local sales/use/property tax laws and policiesResearch and advise on all sales/use and property tax matters impacting the CompanyCommunicate with state and local tax authorities on tax-related correspondencePerforms other duties as assigned

 

Skills we are seeking: 

7 – 10+ years of tax experience with a specific focus in the areas of sales/use and propertyA mix of industry and professional / consulting experience, a plusUndergraduate in Accounting or finance-related degree requiredStrong Microsoft Excel knowledge and applicationEffective analytical skills and extreme attention to detailGood communication skills and ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExperience with tax software (Avalara, Vertex, or similar) and enterprise business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar
