Tax Director/Counsel

The responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following: (i) provide research, analysis, advice and presentations with respect to U.S. federal income taxes, international income taxes and other tax matters (such as transactional tax planning, tax compliance, tax treaty matters and transfer pricing); (ii) review and negotiate tax provisions of project contracts; (iii) manage and implement tax planning and other projects; (iv) support the resolution of tax disputes such as tax audits, tax treaty cases and litigation in both the US and foreign jurisdictions; and (v) review and analyze proposed legislation and regulations for comments and recommendations.
• Approximately 6 to 12 years of total tax law experience from working at a large law firm, Big 4 accounting firm or large multinational company.
• Excellent tax research and analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex tax issues and options to decision makers at different levels of the organization.
• Experience in Subchapter C corporate tax planning.
• Experience with international tax planning issues.
• Experience in general corporate transactional tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Self-starter with strong interpersonal and project leadership skills.
• Ability to work autonomously yet keep Tax management informed of work progress and any unusual situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and successfully interact with finance, legal and business-line personnel.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school (and member in good standing of a State Bar).
• LLM in Taxation/ Masters in Taxation.
• Business/ Accounting degree or experience.
• Tax controversy experience.
• Transfer pricing experience.
