The Vontier Corporate Tax Team will provide you with a meaningful and fulfilling work experience under the mentorship of skilled tax professionals. Our goal is to provide the Tax Intern working knowledge of the whole corporate tax lifecycle (planning, execution, tax provision, tax compliance, tax audit and audit defense) to the extent possible.
The Corporate Tax Intern will expand the candidate’s knowledge of accounting and tax concepts by assisting the Corporate Tax Team on the following projects: preparation of corporate federal and state income tax returns, gathering data for foreign informational reporting, reconciliation of tax accounts, modeling tax impacts of strategic planning initiatives, assist in developing transfer pricing documentation and other projects as needed.
The paid internship period may last up to 18-24 months for 20-30 hours per week (you will have control of the hours / days you work based on your academic commitments).
\nWHAT YOU WILL DO
\nYou are a self-motivated problem solver who is detail-oriented and eager to grow professionally within the Vontier Tax function.
• Accounting or finance major, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
• Preference for students who will be entering their Junior or Senior year of college.
• Enrolled in a 4-year accounting / finance degree program.
• Aims to pursue a Master’s in Accounting, or alternative means of satisfying education requirement for CPA License.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement
• Technical proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

• Development of technological analytical skills by leveraging such tools as PowerBI, Alteryx, Snowflake, Power Query, and advance use of excel.
• Connections with accounting firms and service providers from the Raleigh, Charlotte, and New York City regions.
• Exposure to the Financial Statement Audit process, including the development and testing of SOX Controls.
• Refinement of communication and other soft skills while communicating results to Tax and Non-Tax professionals.
• Real world work experience that can be leveraged to demonstrate accounting proficiency in future employment.
Candidate must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship. The internship is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
