Tax Intern
**Description** The Tax Intern will be a member of the Corporate Tax department. This is a unique position allowing the candidate to have hands-on experience dealing with income tax compliance and provision for a $15 billion company. The candidate’s primary role will be to support the Income Tax Operations team on the foreign tax compliance and provision work. This requires a general understanding income tax accounting rules. Responsibilities will include reviewing foreign tax returns, preparing tax payments, and performing tax research and analysis of various international tax issues to assist in responding to tax authorities from various tax jurisdictions. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assist in the quarterly tax provision. The position requires attention to detail, exemplary organization skills, and strong work ethic. **This is a year-round internship requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. Must be able to work at our Reston Corporate HQ office a minimum of 1 day per week.** **The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.** **Primary Responsibilities:** + Analyze and reconcile various income tax accounts on a monthly basis. + Support income Tax Operations team with various accounting and tax compliance filing obligations. + Assist with responses to US and foreign income tax notices. + Communicate verbally and in writing with representatives of foreign tax jurisdictions. + Preparation of miscellaneous tax forms (FBAR, Form 8802, etc.) + Process foreign income tax payments and obtain necessary approvals for required tax filings. + Assist with ad hoc tax projects and miscellaneous administrative tasks. + **This is a year-round internship requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. Must be able to work at our Reston Corporate HQ office a minimum of 1 day per week.** **Basic Qualifications.** + Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program from an accredited university majoring in accounting. + Ideal candidate would have an interest in pursuing a job in Tax. + Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. + Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and keep highly sensitive information confidential. + Ability to effectively interact with co-workers of all levels and with other departments within the finance organization. + Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be comfortable with virtual communications. + **U.S. Citizenship is required.** **Preferred Qualifications.** + Enrolled in a master’s in taxation or accounting program is a plus. + Prior accounting internship experience. + A general knowledge of income tax is a plus. + Self-starter able to work independently and as a team. **Original Posting Date:** 2025-02-26 While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. **Pay Range:** Pay Range $39,000.00 - $70,500.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
