Job Summary Swissport is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its team. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to ensure accurate and on-time filings, lead domestic and international tax planning projects, and assist with professionalizing and automating the tax function. Job Responsibilities Income tax returns: Support the collection, organization, and analysis of data to assist third-party firms in preparing US and Canada tax forms, reviewing said forms to ensure accurate reporting with relevant tax law. The US returns include a large volume of state returns, two partnerships, C corporations, and disregarded LLCs filing a consolidated return for federal income tax purposes. Tax provision: Help prepare quarterly and annual tax provision utilizing a 3rd-party software. Tax examination management: Respond to all federal/state/foreign information document requests, analyze proposed audit adjustments, and prepare protests for any disputed adjustments and/or negotiate audit settlements. Tax accounting: Maintain income tax related records for all entities including deferred tax records, tax attributes, reconciliation of tax return differences, and calculations of deferred tax assets/liabilities, valuation allowance considerations, and assessment of Uncertain Tax Positions and conduct FIN 48 analysis. Tax reporting: Assist with preparing and filing business licenses, excise tax returns, personal property, and unclaimed property tax returns as needed. Sales and use tax: Willingness to learn the sales and use tax process to support team workload and gain an understanding of the full tax compliance process. Strategic tax planning: Collaborate with Sr Tax Director to execute tax planning initiatives, monitor tax law changes, and work with outside counsel to optimize tax efficiencies. Project management: Lead in the development and implementation of process improvements and automation tools. Other items: As requested, manage, coordinate and review transfer pricing requirements, cash management, inter-company agreements, mergers and acquisition due diligence, tax planning and any other tax relevant items. Qualifications and Competencies Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of US tax accounting, reporting and compliance. Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and integrity in all aspects of work. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with focus on on-time delivery. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex tax concepts to finance leadership. Team Collaboration: A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of fostering collaborative relationships across departments. Education/Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Experience: 2-4 years of tax experience, ideally within a Big Four accounting firm. Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Technical: Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP is a plus. Travel: Limited travel up to 10% to support job responsibilities.
