Position Summary:
The Tax Manager will support the Werfen US Tax team’s federal, state, and international income tax accounting, compliance, and planning functions. The Tax Manager will complete monthly tax provisions and reconcile tax accounts on a timely basis in accordance with Werfen’s monthly close process. The Tax Manager will work crossfunctionally within Werfen to document tax positions. The Tax Manager will maintain workpapers to support tax information presented on the US group’s federal, state and Canadian income tax returns. The Tax Manager will support tax audits.
ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities
Assist in the preparation and review of Werfen’s monthly reporting package and income tax provisions for select US and Canadian subsidiaries in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.Reconcile tax accounts and maintain supporting tax schedules to comply with annual financial statement audit requests.Provide state apportionment information and other documentation to support the outsourced preparation of Werfen’s annual corporation income tax returns.Compile data to support the Company’s research and experimentation capitalization and associated tax credits.Respond to tax notices, communicate with tax authorities, and provide support for tax audits.Implement process improvements to address the impact of new tax legislation on Werfen.Provide support for internal audits and special projects.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Networking/Key relationships

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field required.Minimun of seven years of corporate income tax experience in a large multi-national corporation or accounting firm with signficant exposure to multinational and multstate tax issues. Previous experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries strongly preferred.Experience with researching, documenting, and interpreting the impact of tax issues on a large multinational corporation.Demonstrated success in the timely completion of income tax audits.Skills & Capabilities:
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations applicable to manufacturers.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.Travel requirements:
Up to 5% annual travel.
