Description Position at SBM Management

The Tax Manager is a key individual contributor and will be an essential part of a team supporting the entire accounting department. The position is responsible for ensuring adherence to all jurisdictional property tax and business license compliance functions. This will include understanding company needs and jurisdictional requirements. The role will also be accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and timely fling of returns and payments.

Responsibilities:  

File business registrations in state, county, or city jurisdictions that SBM operatesMaintain business licenses in the various states, counties, and cities that SBM operates, including filing annual forms/returnsPrepare annual county and city property tax declarationsAnalyze and update tax fixed asset ledger and reconciliationsGather tax information requested by outside CPAs for preparation of the annual income tax returnsAnalyze and audit tax data for accuracy, investigate questionable data and tax corrective action when necessaryCollaborate with and coordinate team members to assist with management of projectsOversee retrieval, validation, and reconciliation of audit data inputsOversee documentation retrieval and organization to support tax audit defenseMaintain appropriate archives (electronic) for copies of all returns, correspondence, and work papersOther duties may be assigned

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field from a four-year college or university with 2+ years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 per year
