Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax planning, preparation, and compliance, and be adept at managing client relationships and leading a team of tax professionals. The role involves developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize tax benefits for clients, as well as overseeing the preparation and filing of all tax returns. ResponsibilitiesPlan, supervise, and complete routine engagements, including reviewing engagement work papers, resolving problems, and keeping the director informed of all important developments.Supervise Associates and Senior Associates, provide feedback to them, and evaluate their career development.Coordinate with team members to work jointly on tax engagements.Become an expert in assigned areas and specialties.Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize tax benefits for clients.Review and analyze financial statements to identify tax issues and opportunities.Conduct independent research to address tax law, tax planning, and other client needs as they arise.Develop and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and government agencies.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting.CPA or EA certification required.3+ years in Public Accounting (with a CPA).Proficiency in Excel and research-based software.Tax expertise for closely held businesses and their owners.Client service and relationship-building abilities.Experience and enjoyment in the CPA profession.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience as a CPA.SALT experience preferred.Estate, Gift, and Trust, and international tax planning experience preferred.Skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing.Well-organized and detail-oriented.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
1. We are the 304 largest CPA firm in the U.S. There are approximately 55,000 firms overall so we feel good about our position and abilities.
2. Our true focus is the Closely Held Business and The Owners from $5,000,000 to $250,000,000 in revenue, 5-500 employees, and most importantly an ownership group that appreciates and values consulting advice.
3. There are no plans to ever move into the SEC world that so many of our regional competitors have done and compete with the E&Y’s of the world. Just not what we know or how we are structured. This is causing much grief with our profession, but opportunity for us!!
4. Our standard work week for the 10-12 weeks of busy season is only 50 hours and 40 for the rest of the year. This means no real significant overtime. There is a huge opportunity for those professionals that want to succeed and achieve advancement in their career and COMPENSATION to do so with extra time and effort. We have a 3 tier bonus program that achieves that and has been successful.
