Tax Manager
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the daily operations of our tax accounting department. This role will also involve developing and implementing tax strategies for compliance, reviewing financial data, preparing tax returns, and providing guidance on tax-related matters. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily operations of the tax accounting function • Develop and implement tax strategies to ensure compliance with regulations • Review and analyze financial data for the preparation and timely filing of tax returns • Provide guidance and support to team members on tax-related matters • Collaborate with other departments to address tax issues and optimize planning strategies • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance • Conduct tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for savings and risk mitigation • Prepare reports on tax-related activities, findings and present to senior management • Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation for audits and reviews • Handle the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts related to fuel/sales taxes • Prepare Resale & Exemption Certificates, Gasoline Blendstock Certificates, and Multi-jurisdictional Sales and Certificates for Vendors. Apply online and call our office at 210-696-8300 Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems to manage financial records and transactions. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services for efficient payroll and HR services. • Familiarity with CaseWare for auditing, financial reporting and data analytics. • Expertise in using CCH ProSystem Fx for tax preparation and compliance. • Knowledge of CCH Sales Tax for managing sales tax obligations. • Ability to perform Accounting Functions such as maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. • Experience in preparing Annual Income Tax Provision to meet corporate tax obligations. • Proficiency in Auditing to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations. • Strong Compliance skills to ensure all operations are conducted according to legal guidelines. • Knowledge of Entity Formation, including legal and tax implications, for business structure advice.
