Tax Manager (Hybrid)

Our company is the largest partnership of physician-owned and physician-led top-tier fertility practices in the nation. We provide fertility medical practices to best enhance the patient experience and improve treatment outcomes. Throughout the United States, we have 70+ clinics and labs serving patients. The Tax Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring the process of preparing, reviewing, and filing tax returns to all applicable taxing jurisdictions including federal, state, and local. The Tax Manager assists the Tax Director to maintain regulatory compliance and procedures to ensure taxes are filed and paid timely and accurately.

The candidate should have a drive and desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the organization. The position will also involve managing and working with the external CPA firms and other teams in the finance department, such as revenue, expense, fixed assets, treasury, accounts payable, etc., and includes requesting and analyzing financial records and reports, ensuring tax payments, maintaining tax calendar, handling tax notices/audit requests, and responding to investors/partners.

With the company experiencing rapid growth, this position has potential opportunities to step up to higher level roles, such as independently leading projects and supervision of staff.

We are currently seeking a full-time Tax Manager to join our fast-paced, high-volume team in Rockville, MD. This position is on-site in our Rockville, MD corporate office or at least 50% hybrid pending on tax season and specific deadlines. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday daytime hours. Pay range is $125k-$130k annually.

How You'll Contribute:

We take a "whatever it takes" approach, even if it's outside the scope of our usual responsibilities. The Tax Manager will generally be responsible for:

Income Tax: Has comprehensive knowledge of business entity types and concepts in partnership, C-Corporation, S-Corporation, and disregarded taxation. Assists the tax director analyzing financials, calculating tax adjustments, apportionment, and tax provisions. Ability to work effectively to meet internal and external deadlines. Provides budget analysis to the accounting team. Property Tax: Responsible for monitoring the process, including gathering fixed assets data, maintaining workpapers, and filing tax returns. Ensuring timely payment of property tax bills, and providing budget analysis to the accounting team. Business License Tax: Responsible for monitoring the process, including gathering data, maintaining workpapers, filing tax returns, and making payments. Provides budget analysis to the accounting team. Use Tax: Responsible for monitoring the process, including gathering data from Coupa, maintaining workpapers, and filing tax returns, and making payments. Provides budget analysis to the accounting team.

What You'll Bring:

Research Skills: Ability to read/ interpret tax law, regulation, revenue procedure,  case laws, and apply its principles to business transactions. Familiarity with CCH software, and other tax research tools is required. Analytical Skills: The Tax Manager must be familiar with GAAP and thoroughly understand the differences between GAAP and tax law. This position will need to be able to perform comparison analyses, reconcile from audit to compliance, and to pin-point the core issue in complex transactions. Problem-Solving Skills: Willingness of taking initiatives and exhausting all efforts before reaching out to other team members. Ability to narrow down issues and paths from complexity.  Attention to detail: Must be detail-oriented in reviewing work. Time management: Be able to prioritize and reasonably allocate time, self-manage and multi-task. Interpersonal skills: Play an active role in collaborating with people with positive tone and respectful manner. Recognize other team members’ efforts and contributions. Work with teams to build up a constructive environment. Communication: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Be clear and concise in both verbal and written communication. Be professional. 


Education/Experience:

Undergraduate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.  CPA/MST is a plus
