The Tax Partner is responsible for Roche Bangladesh tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for all applicable taxes. 

In this role as a Tax Partner, you will be managing tax operations and compliance and providing support to build up strategies for Bangladesh to minimize tax risks and ensure smooth daily operation in accordance with functional plans, business objectives, group policies, and prevailing tax regulations.

 

What you will be working on:

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax India, you will work closely with the local finance, shared services center, tax authority, and other tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing and payment of tax returns. You will be responsible for conducting thorough tax research, creating, and implementing tax strategies, managing tax audits and providing guidance to the organization on tax planning and decision-making, ensuring both compliance and business partnership. 

 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Prepare and manage all Local Tax Operations (Direct & Indirect tax) including returns, payments etc. ensuring correct and timely applicable tax filing

Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process

Manage tax audits and respond to tax notices

Manage Transfer Pricing documentation according to Group Transfer Pricing Policy

Provide support to implement Global Tax Policies

Interactions with local Tax Authorities and Tax Audits

Liaise with external tax consultants for any tax case.

Provide business support and advisory on tax where possible

 

Who you are:

Your are a Partially qualified CA (Chartered Accountancy) professional who have passed the Tax Planning & Compliance/Taxation 2 or equivalent. 

 

You have:

University degree in commerce or equivalent. CA /  Partially qualified CA (Chartered Accountancy) preferred

Demonstrated hands-on experience either in a tax function or finance areas with exposure to taxes - within a multinational company or from an accounting and tax services advisory company

Proven track record in tax management and a good understanding of the Bangladesh tax laws. 

Ability to contribute directly in fulfilling the essential duties linked to the position with service mindedness.

Good understanding of Local Taxes i.e., CIT, WHT, VAT, and Transfer Pricing

Good accounting knowledge and familiarity with the use of business IT systems – Google and Microsoft Office suites and SAP being the main ones

Fluency in spoken and written English

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & CRM software

You demonstrate:

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

Eagerness in learning to learn new things

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently to identify opportunities and potential areas of risk

 

You are good at developing rapport with regional and global finance and compliance colleagues and have an agile and customer-centric mindset to go above and beyond, if needed.

Full eligibility to live and work in Bangladesh is required for this Dhaka-based role as visa and relocation support is not available for this position.
