Tax Process&Knowledge Expert (German taxes)
Job Purpose
As a CoE Tax Process & Knowledge Expert for our GBS team at Bayer, you will support WHT, CIT, and VAT compliance for Germany. Your role includes guiding the German tax team, addressing complex tax issues, improving processes, and verifying contracts from a WHT perspective. Additionally, you will document and train team members on tax processes, participate in stakeholder meetings, and conduct risk-based reviews of tax declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Spearheaded support for WHT, VAT, and CIT compliance processes specific to Germany.
Deliver expert guidance to resolve complex tax issues and refine existing processes.
Assess commercial contracts with a focus on WHT implications for German entities.
Elevate team proficiency by documenting processes and conducting training sessions on German tax regulations.
Facilitate tax refund and audit processes.
Engage in stakeholder meetings to disseminate information and tackle business initiatives.
Perform risk-based evaluations of tax declarations to guarantee compliance and accuracy.
Analyze tax declarations for complex entities, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
Experience & Skills Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Tax/Fiscal, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Business, complemented by over 8 years of tax advisory experience, ideally within a multinational environment. This should include a comprehensive background in direct and indirect tax advisory, compliance, accounting, and reporting.
Proven experience working with German stakeholders and a solid understanding of German tax laws.
An adept ability to navigate ambiguity, with a strong capacity for sound judgment.
Demonstrated leadership in driving change, managing projects, and spearheading initiatives.
Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
Quick adaptability to new tax regulations and business knowledge.
Familiarity with SAP is considered advantageous.
Outstanding analytical abilities, a proactive approach, and a customer-centric mindset.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of managing diverse stakeholder groups.
Proficiency in both English and German, with advanced written and spoken skills in both languages.
