As a Vice President in the Client Tax team, you will be responsible for playing an active role in supporting J.P. Morgan’s Securities Services business and clients with respect to their tax reporting operations. In your new role, you will support clients that include large industry superannuation funds and managed investment trusts based in Australia. You will also be responsible for the oversight of tax services provided to both internal and external clients, including managing client’s tax queries and deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee and sign off on tax returns, tax adjustments, and supplementary tax reports for unit trust and superannuation clients. Ensure all deliverables are completed and delivered according to agreed timetables and client Service Level Agreements. Manage and lead a team of tax professionals, providing career development, training, coaching, and guidance. Liaise with clients regarding their tax reporting requirements and queries, acting as a subject matter expert. Build and maintain client relationships and effective partnerships with local operations, client services, and ancillary teams. Provide support on projects related to clients, process improvements, and product development. Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with tax reporting and processes. Assist with drafting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and tax reporting policy. Troubleshoot and resolve operations issues through research and engagement with relevant teams. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of all team processes and build effective partnerships with our offshore center of excellence. Ensure high-quality service delivery by maintaining effective communication and collaboration across teams.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
A tertiary qualification in Tax, Accounting or a related discipline At least 8 years’ experience in tax reporting within financial and/or professional services sector Experience in managing a team of 5 individuals or more Experience in Australian tax regulations applicable for unit trusts and superannuation clients Proven track record of delivering on strategic goals in relation to technology, ops model and product development Effective planning and time management skills, with demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to managing dynamic workload and periodic overtimePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualifications are preferable.
