Are you ready to make a difference in a collaborative and supportive tax team? We're looking for an EMEA Tax Specialist to join our Tax Department and provide specialist support for Canon’s EMEA Tax function. In this role, you'll ensure compliance with corporate tax requirements, focusing on the Dutch Fiscal Unity, and oversee tax accounting and reporting for Canon EMEA entities. You’ll also contribute to tax planning, manage tax issues, and offer general support for the EMEA Tax Manager.
About the Team
The Canon EMEA Tax Department is a close-knit, dedicated team spread across Amstelveen (our operational headquarters) and London (our strategic headquarters). Our department handles tax controlling functions across the EMEA region. You’ll be reporting to our EMEA Tax Manager based in London, who oversees international income tax and transfer pricing. Our team includes experienced professionals, with our tax leaders averaging 20 years at Canon, creating a wealth of knowledge and experience to support you in your role.

As an EMEA Tax Specialist you will be responsible to:
Tax Accounting/Reporting:
Complete periodic tax provision, tax accounting for CENV single and relevant Dutch fiscal unity tax accounting works.Oversee current and deferred tax accounting for all the Canon EMEA legal entities (USGAAP).Provide appropriate information/explanations to Global Headquarter and external auditors on Group tax accounting matters.Support all Tax accounting and tax reporting for all Canon EMEA group companies (30+ main entities).Provide necessary support/training to all legal entity controllers to ensure they can make complete, accurate and correctly valued tax accounting/reporting.Tax Compliance:
Ensure corporate tax compliance of the Dutch (Canon) Fiscal unity.Support compliance with tax rules by all legal entities in EMEA region.Monitor the quality and support the required reporting for (Public-) Country-by-Country Reporting, BEPS Pillar 2 including Transitional CbCr safe harbor and GIR, DAC6, etc.Tax Process Management
Support Quarterly tax accounting book closing process to ensure all tax related deadlines for financial book closing/reporting and provision of tax information to external auditors are met.Ensure strong Internal Control and complete SOX and audit support tasks for all tax processes. Any issues identified to be follow-up and escalate where required.Support EMEA Tax Manager with effective tax planning for EMEA business models, acquisition, disposal and restructuring projects. Explore possibilities of process automation and application of IT solution to enhance the process.What we give
