Tax Specialist

Reporting to the Manager of Tax Operations, the incumbent of the position is primarily responsible for handling transactions within our insurance tax team with various levels of complexity. This role will be collaborating with various individuals within the tax team and internal stakeholders across Manulife.

Position Responsibilities

Accurately review and process received transactions, including remittances, reports, tax quotes, and inquiries, in a timely manner while supporting year-end tax slip production.Deliver excellent service to both internal and external clients by responding to inquiries with thorough research and analysis, solving problems efficiently.Meet daily service level agreements and ensure high accuracy in all processes.Collaborate with teams across various offices to manage dynamic volumes and maintain service standards.Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to process improvements to enhance service efficiency.Work effectively with other departments within Policy Services.

Required Qualifications

Proficient in Excel (ability to do Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, sorting and handling large amount of data)Ability to learn new software/system applications quicklyCollege diploma or relevant work experienceAbility to work independently, with minimal direct supervisionDemonstrated decision-making skillsEntrepreneurship, initiative and attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to respond positively and constructively to challenges and opportunitiesOrganizational skills and ability to multitaskExcellent customer service skillsResilience and sense of adaptationSolid problem solving and decision-making skillsSelf-starter with excellent initiative and attention to detailSuccessful experience in working in a fast-paced environmentConsistently responds to challenges and opportunities in a positive and productive manner

Salary range is expected to be between

$42,825.00 CAD - $71,375.00 CAD
