Job Description:

The Tax Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial part in ensuring MBPS's compliance with Philippine Tax Laws, directly contributing to the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency. By maintaining accurate tax records and facilitating timely filings, the Tax Specialist supports our mission of transparency and accountability. In this role, you'll gain valuable experience in tax management, develop expertise in navigating complex tax regulations, and work collaboratively with experienced professionals, enhancing both your technical skills and professional growth.

Position Responsibilities:

Timely filing and/or payment of PH national tax returns (i.e., Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Taxes, DST, FBT, etc.) with required attachments

Computation of monthly and quarterly tax provisions

Review of the hard copy of documents for VAT refund at the administrative and judicial level, with corresponding reconciliation, as necessary, and preparation of the schedules required for the VAT refund

Assist in handling BIR Audits (i.e., reconciliation of BIR Audit findings; and compilation of required documents to support the reconciliation)

Coordinate with external auditors for the required schedules or supporting documents needed for the completion of the audit

Provide responses to tax-related queries from other department

Maintain monitoring of tax compliance, filing and payment of all tax returns, both National and Local taxes

Prepare / compile documentary requirements for submission to BIR, SEC & LGU’s (e.g., registration updates, AFS, GIS, etc.)

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Typically, 0 to 3 years experience

College graduate with a degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related course

Knowledge of Philippine Tax Laws and regulatory agency reportorial requirements 

Ability to work under pressure and can adapt to changing paces in tax reporting requirements

Proficiency in MS Office specifically in MS Excel

Excellent oral and written communication

Detail oriented and can provide high quality output

Excellent time management skills

Ability to work independently, self-motivated, resourceful, and a team-player

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA board exam passer is an advantage

At least one (1) year in audit firm/s with specialization in Ta
