Tax Technology Manager
Tax Technology Manager - Decatur, IL
Location: City Center, Decatur, Chicago

The Tax Department is an integral part of the ADM organization, regularly communicating with and supporting colleagues across the various businesses and around the world.  This Tax Technology Manager position will work closely with various tax subject matter experts and tax technology personnel within the tax department and stakeholders outside the Corporate & Indirect Tax Teams. The Tax Technology Manager will be a key resource in relation to the identification, implementation and maintenance of key existing tax technology applications within ADM, which support tax calculations required to comply with US, International tax laws and other tax reporting obligations.  

The team member will also support automation efforts around specific tax processes and calculations. For example, depreciation, apportionment, book to tax differences, intercompany transaction flows, GILTI, foreign tax credit, quarterly income tax provision and form preparation.  The candidate will be required to understand business models and the activities of various ADM legal entities to help improve and automate tax compliance and reporting. 

Key responsibilities include:Work with stakeholders to identify applications, data needs and requirements for tax computation and reporting improvements;Obtain required data in efficient, automated and replicable manner, for use by various tax functions;Identify data/process needs and areas of improvement to support design and build for tax calculations across various areas of tax;Identify potential new technology solutions and automate tax related calculations and other tax processes;Modify existing applications where possible to assist compliance with new tax rules e.g. GMT;Act as a gatekeeper to maintain existing tax technology systems and financial data used for tax calculations to support the various tax functions;Be a key resource of tax process improvements for efficiency and digital transformation using new tax technology applications and existing data analytic tools (Alteryx, Power BI etc.);Maintain various tax systems, data items and calculations e.g. new systems and processes created for 1ADM;Manage and improve the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program and Foreign Company Income Tax Return (FCIR) preparation process;Assist with calculation, preparation, and automation of the income tax provision and various IRS forms;Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Statistical Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience;3 -5 years of experience with a public accounting firm or industry with emphasis on data analytics, data warehouse, and tax, income tax calculations, transfer pricing or intercompany calculation/automation;Experience and knowledge of implementing and maintaining major tax applications such as tax engines;Strong tax technology project management experience preferred.Alteryx  (or similar data analytics software) experience is a plus but ability to adapt to and learn new applications is a must;Knowledge of and interest in current technologies impacting tax operating model(s);Experience integrating disparate data from multiple systems;Ability to conceptualize and manage multiple tasks while meeting set timelines;Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and organizational skills;Strong team player who is able to interact well with associates within the tax department and also with associates in other departments.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
