**Overview**
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the work of the tax team, ensuring the standardization of tax procedures across all agencies and compliance with applicable legislation and obligations. Your primary focus will include tax planning for activities in Colombia, with a special emphasis on international taxation and its impact on reducing the company’s tax burden. You will coordinate tax routines with business units, ensure alignment with current legislation and the group’s tax policies, and facilitate regular meetings with relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee tax inspections, interpret and enforce tax laws, provide internal advisory opinions, and ensure the tax team remains updated on Colombia’s tax landscape.
**Responsibilities**
**Tax Planning & Coordination**
+ Plan, coordinate, and monitor the work of the tax team.
+ Ensure the standardization of tax procedures from all agencies and compliance with applicable legislation and ancillary obligations.
+ Prepare tax planning for activities carried out in Colombia, focusing on international taxation and its impact on reducing the tax burden.
+ Coordinate tax routines with business units, ensuring the application of legislation, business principles, and group tax policies.
**Compliance & Tax Legislation**
+ Monitor inspection work related to tax areas.
+ Interpret and enforce tax laws, issue internal interpretative opinions, and disseminate instructions for implementation.
+ Keep the tax area updated on Colombia’s tax issues and provide clarifications as needed.
+ Monitor the calculation and collection of taxes and contributions from business units, as well as managing potential litigation.
**Stakeholder & Authority Interaction**
+ Maintain direct contact with tax authorities, creating a communication channel for consultation and resolution of issues.
+ Promote the dissemination and application of corporate tax policies to ensure full understanding and compliance within the team.
**Team & Resource Management**
+ Ensure subordinates are kept up to date on aspects of the business that may influence their activities.
+ Promote integration between areas to work in a coordinated and efficient manner.
+ Ensure teams have the necessary resources and conditions to carry out planned activities.
+ Specialized Knowledge
+ Knowledge related to mergers and acquisitions.
**Qualifications**
**Experience**
+ 5 years of experience in Legal / Tax or Accounting areas in medium or large companies.
+ Passing through BIG4 is a differential.
+ Understands the link between revenues/costs and uses this information to guide economic focus.
+ Knowledge in Tax, Corporate, Commercial Legislation and large systems.
+ Experience in relation to the tax authorities, lawyers, consultants, auditors.
+ Broad Vision - Ability to analyze the environment, both locally and in a broader context, to gather diverse information potentially relevant to achieving the objectives of the position.
+ Demonstrates a knowledge of business and financial concepts and can assess the situation to minimize risk. Ability to work efficiently in different scenarios, demonstrated by the ability to correct one's own approach as circumstances and situations unfold.
**Education**
+ Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting or Business Administration.
**Skills**
+ Fluent English level is required.
