ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations and ensures enforcement of all security and safety regulations, rules, and policies of the Center.
2. Informs the Center Director of all incidents and/or situations that may have adverse effect on the Center, students, or personnel.
3. Supports the Center Safety Officer with monthly inspection of the fire safety systems and monthly fire drills.
4. Maintains control, custody, and proper utilization of assigned equipment.
5. Ensures compliance with security instructions, training, directives and established work schedules, programs, and assignments.
6. Coordinates the proper preparation and timely submission of all forms and reports prepared and/or maintained by security shifts.
7. Performs periodic inspections of assigned areas of responsibility to ensure that applicable directives are complied with and that delegated responsibilities are being carried out efficiently.
8. Establishes and maintains working and support relationships with law enforcement agencies; ensuring criminal incidents are reported to law enforcement promptly.
9. Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures, communications, and recognitions for subordinates in areas supervised.
10. Ensures that employability skills, attitudes and knowledge is practiced and integrated into all phases of career development and student life on Center to ensure life career success.
11. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops job performance standards and work assignments for staff within the department and monitors the work performance of the department.
2. Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company.
3. Practices social and employability skills with students and staff that are consistent with the established Job Corps Career Success Standards.
4. Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe workplace environment.
5. Attends all required training.
6. Complies with all established Company and Center Policies and Procedures.
7. Works as part of the team to assure that Performance Outcome Measurement System goals are achieved.
8. Models, supports, and integrates employability skills, attitude, and knowledge into all phases of career development.
9. Provides on-going professional development opportunities for staff.
10. Evaluate employee performance in a timely and consistent manner.
11. Submit all required reports timely.
12. Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.
13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.
A bachelor’s degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Police Science or a related field, and three years’ experience in corrections, security, and/or law enforcement with functional or line supervision experience.
OR
Associate degree or equivalent in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Police Science or related field and five years’ experience in safety, security, and/or law enforcement with functional or line supervision experience.
