NYU Shanghai is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic graduate student to serve as a Teaching Assistant for NEUR-SHU 201: Introduction to Neural Science during the Fall 2025 semester. Under the guidance of the course instructor, the TA will play a key role in facilitating student learning in a dynamic, discussion-based classroom that meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:15 am – 12:30 pm in Room S310.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Instructional & Grading Support

Grade problem sets (distributed two to three times per semester) and record grades on Brightspace and GradescopeAssist with grading the midterm and final examinationsProctor both in-class exams (midterm and final)Coordinate regularly with the course instructor to discuss student progress and clarify grading rubrics

Student Engagement & Communication

Hold two hours of weekly office hours to review course material and answer questionsRespond promptly to student emails and Brightspace queriesFacilitate student learning by guiding group discussions or review sessions as needed

Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week on average

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
