This position is a non-exempt, 35-hour per week, on-site position. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Our Kimbrough Early Learning Center (KELC) is for children of all abilities between the ages of 2 and 5. Our Teaching Assistants help support the teachers in each classroom during the daily routine. The children enjoy socialization with their peers and learn skill development and school-readiness through planned curriculum and experiential opportunities. The children in the KELC spend time on Turnstone's accessible playground, and also have supervised access to Turnstone's warm water therapy pool.

Basic duties include, but are not limited to:

Assisting children with basic needs such as hygiene, eating, and restroomSupporting our teachers with activities throughout the day, both inside and outside of the classroomKeeping our classrooms organized and running efficientlyAssisting with laundry, cleaning and disinfectingHelping provide coverage when staff members are on vacation or out due to illnessCommunicating with children and families

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalentAble to lift 50 lbs.Able to adhere to Indiana State regulations for licensed childcare centers and Paths to Quality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current and maintained certification in CPR and First AidAt least 1 year of teaching experienceAt least 1 year of childcare experienceA Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
