NYU Shanghai's Computer Science program is seeking Part-time Teaching Associates for the Spring 2025 semester, which runs from February to the end of May. This position is based in Shanghai, China, and requires approximately 16-20 hours of work per week, including teaching and academic support responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:

Teaching Associates will assist professors with undergraduate computer science courses such as Introduction to Computer Programming, Machine Learning, Discrete Mathematics, and more.

Key duties include:

Preparing teaching materials, labs, and assignmentsGrading homework and examsLeading recitations, quizzes, and discussionsProctoring examsMaintaining course attendance and grading recordsHolding regular office hours and providing one-on-one support to studentsManaging and responding to course-related emailsMaintaining and updating course material webpagesActing as a liaison between students and professorsHandling other miscellaneous projects as assigned by the course instructor Qualifications Commitment to 16-20 hours per week, from February 3 to May 25, 2025Enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Computer Science or a related fieldTeaching experience in Computer Science or related courses in English (preferred)Extensive knowledge of the disciplineProficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python)Excellent command of spoken and written EnglishPassion for higher education and teachingAbility to learn quickly and adapt
