Team Lead, Integrated Insights & Strategy, Heme/Endo

ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer is seeking a Director/TL of Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) that will lead a team of highly intelligent individual contributors responsible for driving commercial brand strategy, framing business problems and enabling executional excellence for two high-value portfolios within the Rare Disease franchise – Hemophilia and Endocrine.  The TL will act as an indispensable thought partner to senior US & Global portfolio leads, sitting on their respective LTs and leveraging analyses that impact portfolio decisions and overarching strategy.  The TL will empower their team of brand strategists to unlock their exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity, driving a spirit of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking that will drive competitive advantage.  They will influence senior portfolio leads and ensure highest quality work, while inspiring, leading and developing new IIS colleagues. 

 

The ideal candidate leverages their outstanding EQ in leading cross-functional teams, guiding the overall delivery of exceptional strategic consultancy, with a track record of affecting positive decision making and driving business returns.  This candidate has proven thought leadership within his/her industry space often including production and syndication/publication of knowledge or development of innovative techniques that drive business performance.  This candidate has strong entrepreneurial drive, thrives on intellectual challenge, and is not encumbered to develop and assert their strong point of view.  They are further equipped to enable this strong opinion-driven approach among their team, through consistent mentorship and ongoing support

Portfolio Area Strategy 

Provide strategic thought partnership to US and Global TA leads to drive investment decisions. 

Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies and tactics. 

Lead the collection of information needs and development of research and data analysis plans. 

Develop and execute creation of in-house knowledge base to drive patient and HCP insights. 

Lead the connection of research and analytics together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations to senior leadership. 

 

Promotional Performance and Execution Insights 

Lead team that develops and monitors key performance metrics to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of a brand’s marketing campaign.  

Lead team that recommends campaign improvement and corrective actions.  

Integrate campaign insights to broader analytic activities to paint the full picture of marketing execution and customer behavior and inform resource allocation decisions. 

Assist in advancing the vision for the future direction of brand activities (Journey Orchestration, Next Best Action, etc). 

 

Forecasting / Operating Plan Support 

In partnership with key Pfizer stakeholders, oversee development of Long-Range Forecasts (LRFs) and Operating Plans. 

Drive the creation of best-in-class epi- and trend-based forecast models in partnership with CoE colleagues. 

Review and enhance forecasts or strategic brand plans with strong expertise in ability to qualify and quantify the business opportunity, including communicating results and recommendations to senior leadership. 

Ensure accurate effective performance measurement and deliver regular assessments of portfolio performance to leadership, including clear articulation of the data and its meaning for the business. 

   

Collaboration with other Analytics Teams 

Lead dialogue to integrate insights across various cross-functional teams – data science, analytics engineering, market research, and media. 

Actively contribute to advancement of team capabilities through thought leadership; seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform. 

Alignment with other analytic teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders. 

Partner with other analytic functions to advance the use of novel data sources including RWD.

QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS in Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering or similar related field required; MS or MBA preferred. 

13+ years in consulting, finance or market analytics 

5+ years at a high-value level (e.g., US & Global) developing data-driven brand strategy for major portfolio (>$3B) 

Experience leading cross-functional teams 

Proven thought leadership within his/her industry space including production, syndication/publication of marketable knowledge or development of innovative techniques that drive business performance 

Strong entrepreneurial drive, who thrives on intellectual challenge and raises the bar in terms of quality work 

Defined involvement in helping frame, design & execute solutions for challenging business situations 

In-depth knowledge of multiple analytic disciplines, including primary and secondary data, with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation   

Proven track record of being an indispensable thought partner and influencing without authority  

Team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence  

Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity, a creative visionary who can drive innovation  

Sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at the highest levels of organizations; excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities  

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to influence and drive change at all levels in an organization 

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
