Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. What you will do:
Lead and train Machine Operators, ensuring their proficiencyAddress and report issues to Section Manager, engineers, and maintenanceVersatility to fill any team position and accomplish various tasksEnsure quality by inspecting parts and materials during the assembly processCollaborate with other departments for problem-solving and process improvementEfficiently handle material delivery and removalContribute to Continuous Improvement by submitting and resolving C.P.S. cardsAdhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructionsProvide process-related information to supervisors and managersDemonstrate technical competence in the entire Supply Chain areaExecute daily work assignments directed by the Section ManagerFacilitate employee training for processes and certificationsMaintain effective communication within the team and across departmentsLead non-conforming meetings for the shopPerform other assigned dutiesWhat you will have:
1-2 years of experience in Machining Operations and/or Quality experienceStrong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsBasic understanding of Machining Centers Controls and ApplicationsFamiliarity with GD&T, ability to read Tooling and Part prints, and understanding of Standard Work processProficiency in Plex menus: control panel, check sheets, inventory search, rejection logs (CCN, CAR, etc.)Experience with Cl Card and SBT process, including rework and out-of-process inventory managementAbility to handle departmental delegation during issue resolutionFlexibility in shift and/or value stream assignmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsInitiative and willingness to speak upWhat would make you a top candidate:
In-depth knowledge of Heller and Toyota Machining Centers Controls and ApplicationsKnowledge of various tools with the ability to change and set tooling in machinesCertification on every operation for the value streamTechnical experience in manufacturing process/value streamConduct standard work audits for the value stream1 year of leadership experience, preferably in manufacturingPhysical Requirements:
