Team Lead, Regional GL Accounting


Job Description:

The group is looking for a Team Lead to manage specific areas of its several entities' Accounting. The position is to coordinate the accounting activities across the specific entities according to both US GAAP and local statutory requirements of the countries assigned. The Finance Team Lead coordinates a team of Accountants looking after the legal entities part of the specific Countries assigned. The position is based in Prague and reports to the Regional Finance Manager.

Job Requirements:

Accountabilities:

Coordinate the end-to-end activities in the Account-to-Report processes in line with US GAAP, corporate policies and ensure that the local statutory requirements of the European countries assigned are metEnsure accurate and timely month-end reporting, meet all corporate deadlinesUnderstand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction to challenge or propose material accounting judgmental entries when relevantCoordinate all necessary documentation for monthly accruals and prepaymentsCoordinate the adjustments and resolves problems within company guidelines and given policyPerform Balance sheet reviews as well as coordinate their preparationsReview VAT return and ensure submission according to local deadlinesPrepare statutory Accounts and tax returns as well as any other local government requirementsLiaise with Auditors(Internal and External) and responsible for the preparation of documentation required as well as SOX testingKey user for specific finance systems including maintenance of respective approval matrix, training and support of department users and documentationEnsure documentations (Guidelines, Manuals) are complete and up-to-dateRegular focus on Balance sheets to minimize open items

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:

Excellent technical financial skills. Ability to understand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction and to challenge or propose material accounting judgmental entries when relevant.Strong interpersonal skills with proven record of successful leadership and management experience

Critical Skills/technical know-how:

Strong Accounting KnowledgeSAP, Hyperion, US-GAAP, SOXEffective time management, organization, and prioritization skills

Critical Experience:

Higher degree in business administration or equivalent finance specific degree. Accounting qualification gained on one of the specific countries assignedStrong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processesAccount to Report knowledge and experience5-7 years experience, min 3 in a multinational environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills in English and major European Languages (German, Italian, French, Spanish, etc)European statutory requirements (Germany, Italy, France, etc...)US GAA experienceSAP R3 / Oracle, HFM knowledgeAbility to identify areas of improvement and to drive necessary actions to completionDemonstrate sound work ethics, respect and cultural sensitivity and awarenessTeam player
