Team Lead, Security
**ABOUT THIS POSITION** We are seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Team Lead to oversee and enhance our organization's information security strategies. This leadership role involves managing a team responsible for safeguarding our digital assets against evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership acumen to drive our cybersecurity initiatives forward. **WHAT YOU'LL DO** **Team Leadership and Development:** + Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.​ + Define team objectives, manage workloads, and ensure the timely achievement of security goals.​ **Security Strategy and Implementation:** + Develop and execute comprehensive cybersecurity strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.​ + Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security protocols to protect information systems and networks.​ **Incident Response and Management:** + Lead the development and execution of incident response plans and playbooks, ensuring swift and effective responses to security incidents.​ + Coordinate cross-functional teams during security incidents to minimize impact and facilitate rapid recovery.​ **Collaboration and Communication:** + Serve as a liaison between the cybersecurity team and other departments, promoting security awareness and best practices across the organization.​ + Communicate security risks, incidents, and mitigation strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders + Drive completion of multi-team efforts to improve the security posture **WHAT YOU'LL NEED** **Education:** + Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are preferred.​ **Experience:** + Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.​ + Minimum of 10 years technical experience with a combination of data center and cloud technology. + Proven track record in developing and implementing security strategies and managing incident response efforts.​ **Technical Skills:** + In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and best practices.​ + Proficiency in security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. + Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools is a plus.​ + Knowledge and ability to Project Manage within the team **Soft Skills:** + Strong leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.​ + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.​ + Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. **ABOUT WAYSTAR** Through a smart platform and better experience, Waystar helps providers simplify healthcare payments and yield powerful results throughout the complete revenue cycle.
