Job Responsibilities:
Position SummaryThe Team Lead at Simeon Park, part of Magna International Inc., is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of pool and park attendants, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and well-being of both staff and visitors, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of park facilities. The Team Lead reports to the Operations and Maintenance Specialist.
Major ResponsibilitiesSupervision and CoordinationSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of pool and park attendants.
Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Safety and Well-beingMonitor the safety and well-being of both staff and visitors.
Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
Facility InspectionsConduct regular inspections of pool and park facilities.
Ensure facilities are well-maintained and meet safety standards.
Staff Scheduling and AttendanceAssist in scheduling shifts and managing staff attendance.
Ensure adequate coverage for all operational hours and events.
Operational SupportAssist with any other duties as needed to support the overall operation and success of the pool and park facilities.
Skills and Competencies RequiredStrong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to handle and resolve conflicts effectively.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
National Lifeguard Certification (NLS).
Swim Instructor Certification.
First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
Soccer Referee Certification is an asset.
Knowledge and EducationMust be enrolled in a university or college program or have equivalent experience.
Work ExperiencePrior experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a recreational or park setting.
Experience as a Lifeguard or Park Attendant is an asset.
Work EnvironmentPark hours are Tuesday to Friday, 12 PM to 9 PM, and weekends, 9 AM to 9 PM.
Outdoor work environment, requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Must be available to work weekends and all holidays of the summer season.
40 hours per week with rotating shifts (9 AM – 6 PM or 12 PM – 9 PM), with availability to work overtime if required.
Time off requests must be submitted 2 weeks in advance for scheduling purposes.
Note: Time off requests on weekends may be limited to one weekend for the entire summer; it is preferable to book your eligible time off during weekdays.
