The Team Lead for Financial Operations Services will oversee the execution of financial operations tasks for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role involves managing a team responsible for funds control, funds certification, accounting, and the reconciliation of financial transactions. The Team Lead will ensure compliance with federal financial management standards and will work closely with the Program Manager to optimize processes and support the generation of accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the team in improving financial processes, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and managing funds control and certification effectively.Oversee timely processing of IPACs, commercial invoices, and capital asset accounting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations.Conduct ongoing reviews and reconciliations, resolving financial discrepancies, and preparing internal and external reports to meet deadlines.Provide leadership and mentorship to the financial operations team, fostering collaboration, compliance, and task prioritization for optimal performance.Coordinate with stakeholders, aligning financial operations with objectives, providing regular updates, and presenting insights for informed decision-making.Requirements Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Strong knowledge of federal financial management practices, including funds control, accounting, and reconciliation.
• Experience with intra-governmental payment processing, commercial invoicing, and managing reimbursable agreements.
• Familiarity with federal financial regulations, including OMB Circulars, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze and improve financial processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS fitness vetting and security clearance as required.Availability:
The Team Lead must be available to support team operations during standard business hours and be able to address urgent financial matters promptly.
